Håkon Thelin. Double Bass composer
Upcoming concerts

Improvisationbased contemporary music is a course open to students at the Norwegian State Academy of Music (NMH). The subject is created by Håkon Thelin and Rolf-Erik Nystrøm, who also is responsible teachers.

Course goal:
The aim of the course is to develop the students ability to present independent, creative musical sounds on their own instruments in forms that are relevant within the international contemporary music scene, or as personal compositions. It s a emphasis on creating soundimages/textures that are significant in connection with different kinds of musical forms or styles. The course will also present certain important works (compositions) that incorporates or deals with improvisation or recomposing from the performer. There is a strong emphasis on direct contact with leading Norwegian and international performers and composers, thru workshops and lectures.

The students perform a number of concerts entitled Intuitive people, both at the Academy and other places.

Lectures are open to public attendance. Contact Håkon or Rolf-Erik if you wish to attend a lecture.
